NORTH AMERICAN STAINLESS CONTRACTS ITS 4TH COLD MILL

NORTH AMERICAN STAINLESS (NAS), a subsidiary of ACERINOX, S.A. with an investment in its Kentucky Plant (USA) of 1,250 million dollar up to date, has contracted its 4th Sendzimir mill with identical characteristics as the previous one: max. width coils 1.350 mm (53 inches), max. tension 50 tons and max. speed 800 mpm, which during its second month of operation has already obtained a production of 8.410 tn.

The equipment supplier will be SEJAL (Sendzimir Japan), mechanical equipment manufacturer Mitshubishi-Hitachi, and for the electrical equipment Toshiba-Mitshubishi.

With this new rolling mill NORTH AMERICAN STAINLESS will have a total cold rolling capacity of 624,000 tpy.

The anticipated start up date for this mill is March 2006.
