Acerinox will plan demand in an adjusted way, thanks to the Oracle Demand Planning Cloud solution, which will add a competitive advantage when it comes to making the corresponding decisions throughout the supply chain, aligning itself to the behaviour of the market in real time. The solution incorporates statistical algorithms that generate a precise forecast for each customer and makes it possible to plan the demand for each type of product, for each of the regions, for each of the customers and for each of the channels. All this leads to a reduction in stocks while guaranteeing supply.
This project is part of the 360º Planning Project that Acerinox is developing together with Minsait, an Indra Group consultancy firm, which will redefine the way in which Acerinox manages its supply chain, allowing it to respond to market demands in the coming years. The specialized company RCL Consulting has implemented the Oracle solution.
"At Acerinox we face a global competitive environment in which efficiency in costs and operations is critical", explained Bernardo Velázquez, CEO of Acerinox. With this strategic transformation plan and relying on Oracle Cloud technology, Acerinox is taking a very significant step in its innovation programs, improving its competitiveness.
Acerinox's objective is to make a profound change in its Supply Chain processes in a 5-year strategic plan. This transformation pursues both cost savings, by reducing inventories, and improving the level of service to its customers. A very important part of the project, from the technological point of view, is the solution Oracle Demand Planning Cloud. Being a cloud solution, Acerinox will benefit from automatic updates, so it will always have the latest version available and will be able to immediately incorporate any innovation. The company will also benefit from the rapid implementation of cloud solutions and their integration with Oracle ERP.
