The College of Engineers honours Victoriano Muñoz, Honorary President of Acerinox, for his professional career

On Thursday 5 July, the Official College of Industrial Engineers of Madrid (COIIM) and the Association of Industrial Engineers of Madrid (AIIM) honoured the Professional Career of Victoriano Muñoz Cava, Honorary President and founder of Acerinox and president of Fundación Juanelo Turriano.

Accompanied by the current Chairman of Acerinox, Rafael Miranda, and the Chief Executive Officer, Bernardo Velázquez, Victoriano Muñoz was honoured for his great importance in the field of engineering and industry, highlighting the role of the industrial engineer in the innovation of the company and the company as a whole.

 Victoriano Muñoz, industrial engineer from the Polytechnic School of Barcelona, was first of all Managing Director of Acerinox and from 1988 Executive Chairman. He was the Chairman of ISSF (International Stainless Steel Forum), he was named Man of the Year in the stainless steel sector and Engineer of the Year, also by this school, and he is highly regarded in the iron and steel industry worldwide and in the international industry.

Victoriano is one of those people who has done a lot for the Spanish industry”, as highlighted by Rafael Miranda in his speech and “for our engineers to be internationally recognised. He has left revolutionary milestones in the sector which are a reference today, such as having built the first integrated stainless steel factory in the world”.
